Cyberbully, starring Emily Osment (most known for her role on Hannah Montana) is a must see for teens, pre-teens and their parents. Osment's character, Taylor, is a victim of cyberbullying through a popular social networking site.
Like many teens, she becomes obsessed with the mean things that are posted about her on the site. Her single mother, played by Kelly Rowan, is at a loss of what to do about the situation because, as many parents know, it is a balance between trusting your teen online and protecting them from cyberbullying situations.

Cyberbully provides a realistic look at what can happen to teens and pre-teens on social networking sites. As a parent of a pre-teen and author of an anti-bullying book, I really appreciated the true look into teen behavior and the struggle of a parent to help her daughter. The movie also depicts what parents and teens can do to help others struggling with cyberbullying. The help that Taylor receives was a welcome surprise because it dealt with assertive solutions. Often in movies, an aggressive, eye for an eye approach is taken to solve problems. In real life, revenge only serves to perpetuate bullying situations.
